In this article it talks about the speech was Dr. Jose Rizal’s toast to the triumph of Spolarium honoring the two great Filipino artists; Juan Luna and Felix Hidalgo. In the speech of Dr. Rizal in the brindis; he fearlessly exclaims the reason why they are gathered and that is to signify an achievement that had shed light into what has turned out to be a dark society as the painting itself portrays. He also gives praise to Hidalgo for illuminating the different ends of the globe and how high a respect he has for them. Also Dr. Jose Rizal gives praise to the youth that fires much enthusiasm and how their actions have made a great difference and contributed to glory that is the Philippines. I really idolized Dr. Jose Rizal; actually he is one of the great hero that i know. He has many accomplishment and achievement in life. ONG,KELVIN M. C-301 /Holy Angel University

The Brindis has endlessly been quoted since that night, often as fragments, often to make twopoints: that Rizal ably articulated the ilustrado political passions of the late 19th century; and that it marked the moment Rizal himself became a central figure in the reformist expatriate community from las islas filipinas.

Rizal may no longer alive today but his spirit of heroism, his writings, his life and works are simply very much alive in minds of filipinos who take into their hearts. The past of Rizal may lead us to success and lesser mistake.

Jose Rizal is a hero. For he opened the mind of the Filipinos for improper treatment of the Spaniards(bad ones) to us. they degrade us and make us slave.
